Raising children in this time and age can be difficult. No matter how much we try, it seems our children still go astray from the straight path. However, as parents, we must try our utmost best and pray to Allah to make our children pious and successful. It is Allah alone who guides. Here are some dua for children we can make on a daily basis for their guidance.
Dua for Children that True Believers Make
A dua that true servants of Allah (SWT) make for their children is mentioned in the Holy Quran in Surah Al-Furqan, (25:74).
“Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us an example for the righteous.”
Dua Prophet Ibrahim (AS) Made for a Pious Child
Another dua we can make for having pious children is the dua Prophet Ibrahim (AS) made. It is mentioned in the Holy Quran in Surah Saffat, (37:100).
“My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous.”
Dua Prophet Ibrahim (AS) Made for Pious Descendants
Prophet Ibrahim (AS) made the following dua for his descendants to be pious and those who submit to Allah. This dua encompasses his own children and the future generations as well. It’s a great dua to make for our children as well. This ayah is in Surah Baqarah, (2:128).
Our Lord, and make us Muslims [in submission] to You and from our descendants a Muslim nation [in submission] to You. And show us our rites and accept our repentance. Indeed, You are the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful.
Dua Made by Adults for Their Children
One dua Allah mentioned in the Quran for pious children is made by those who are obedient to their own parents. This dua is found in Surah Al-Ahqaf (46:15).
“My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to work righteousness of which You will approve and make righteous for me my offspring. Indeed, I have repented to You, and indeed, I am of the Muslims.”
Dua for Pious Children Made by Prophet Zakariyya (AS)
This dua was made by Prophet Zakariyya (AS) for pious offspring. The dua the prophets made are the best dua we can make for our children as well. This dua is found in Surah Ali Imran (3:38).
“My Lord, grant me from Yourself a good offspring. Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication.”
Another Dua of Prophet Ibrahim (AS)
Allah SWT mentions some beautiful dua Prophet Ibrahim (AS) made for himself, his children and his progeny in Surah Ibrahim. One such dua is for pious children. This dua is mentioned in verse 40.
“My Lord, make me an establisher of prayer, and [many] from my descendants. Our Lord, and accept my supplication.”
Please keep reciting the above duas on a daily basis for your children. In addition, be kind to them, teach them good manners, show them the right and wrong path, and Insha-Allah, with the help of Allah, they will be on the straight path and meet Allah in a state that Allah is pleased with them.
BUT THE WHOLE MUSLIM UMMAH NEEDS MANY PRAYERS.
You are right. We need to pray for our children and the entire Ummah in general.
Agreed, even not only Muslims. Prayer on what area of concentration, because prayer is common name that we all used to say to the Holy God for our needs.
Absolutely True! So pray for the Ummah, your children, your parents, your siblings, your spouse, your in-laws, your relatives, the stranger you meet on the street who does something nice to you… there is no limit to who you can make Dua for, and the more Dua you make, the more it pleases Allah.
Also worth noting, any Dua you make to benefit others, angels make the same Dua for you – and the Dua of the angels are more likely to get accepted.
May Allah give you, the admins of this site, the visitors of this site, the whole Ummah, the best in this world and Aakhirah 🙂
